There’s no man in town as admired as you
You’re ev’ryone’s favorite guy
Ev’ryone’s awed and inspired by you
And it’s not very hard to see why
No one’s slick as my dad
No one’s quick as my dad
For there’s no man in town half as manly
Perfect, a pure paragon!
You can ask any Tom, Dick or Stanley
And they’ll tell you whose team they prefer to be on
My what a guy, that Jim Blair!
Give five “hurrahs!”
Give twelve “hip-hips!”
My dad is the best
And the rest is all drips 😉
No one grills like my dad
Has cool skills like my dad
No one reads like my dad
Delegates and leads like my dad
Oh, ahhh, wow!
My what a guy, that Jim Blair!
No one talks to folks (old, young, very young, total strangers, etc.) like my dad
Makes great jokes like my dad
Then goes hiking and biking with blokes, like my dad
My what a guy,
My dad!
My daddy is one of the friendliest people I know, and an incredibly example to me. He’s taught me how to work hard and play hard. He’s taken me hiking, biking, swimming, ice fishing, camping, skiing, to India and Nepal, to the temple, all over everywhere to do service, to his office, to the hospital to visit Grandpa Blair, to Peter Breinholt and other concerts, almost to a U2 concert, to Boston, to New York, to Hawaii, to many daddy-daughter activities, to Pixar opening night showings, to the cabin, to the Sky Club, and so many more places.
He’s also taught me to love the scriptures, to have an attitude of gratitude, to show love and respect, to be dedicated, to share my talents with others, to be kind to everyone, to be accepting, to be a leader, but to let others also do their part… And sooooo much more. I know he’s changed hundreds of lives, as a bishop, young mens president, business man, brother, friend, etc. I love my daddy!
And it was kind of hard to write this song, because my daddy and Gaston don’t have anything in common except that everyone wants to be like both of them. So that’s why the words are so choppy. Just sayin.
Amen. A man who loves everyone and who everyone loves. He really exudes enthusiasm for others, for life and especially for the gospel. I too feel so grateful to be learning everyday from him how to center your life and touch others by the way you live and the way you let others live. I love my daddy!
